With over ten years of experience with two of the leading financial advisers in the West Country I felt that I could provide my clients with a better quality of service and professionalism by setting up on my own.

Every client is unique and it is important to understand all of their financial planning requirements and future aspirations, and I tailor the service and recommendations to those requirements.

In order to tailor the service for my clients I specialise in the detailed analysis and planning of their goals and management of the potential obstacles.

In building lifelong relationships with clients I am able to offer a wide range of services from Retirement Planning and Inheritance Tax Advice to Mortgage Advice and Personal Financial Protection. This means that I not only deal with clients themselves, but also help their children as well.

I am a member of the internationally recognised Institute of Financial Planning and am a Certified Financial Planner (CFPCM).



Tristan Johnson DipPFS,

I help my clients to realise their financial goals by developing a tailored and holistic plan which builds and preserves their wealth. I believe in developing long term relationships with my clients based on integrity, trust, honesty and respect.

I came into a career as a Financial Adviser off the back of 19 years of working on trading software within some of the largest global investment banks including Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Barclays Capital, RBC and HSBC. I saw the vast sums of money going through these trading systems on a daily basis and became despondent with the fact that I was helping wealthy global corporates become even wealthier. I decided that, instead, I wanted to help individuals and small companies to become more successful financially. This, combined with the fact that I wasn’t seeing enough of my wife and two daughters, whilst commuting to London, drove me to use my Investment Banking knowledge and retrain with the excellent St. James’s Place Academy. There, after rigorous training and many exams, I gained my Diploma in Financial Planning.

I continue to learn and develop so that I will always be able to present my clients with the best and most up to date advise possible. Nothing gives me more pleasure than knowing that I have helped to make families and small businesses more financially secure and able to face whatever uncertainty the future might bring.



Jonathan Atkinson DipFA,

I live in Bath with my wife and two young daughters. After a career in the Armed Forces participating in operations and training all over the world, I moved into the Financial services industry in 2008 looking for a quieter yet still professional career. I joined RBS the same week at what is now known as the start of the banking crisis, I saw at first hand the denial then panic as the share price fell away from £12 to 12p and it looked like the bank was going under. The rest is history but it starting my interest in company performance, shareholder value the knock on effect of people’s long-term wealth and the value of holistic financial planning.

Thankfully it transpired to be perfect timing as I was able to play my small part in one of the largest corporate turnaround stories in history. 10 years on, the core skills of developing long term relationships with integrity, straight forward communication and commitment to the task are fundamental to my approach.

I recently joined St. James’s Place as I wanted to offer a significantly broader depth of financial consulting alongside my passion for developing client relationships. I felt that their approach to investment management and advice guarantee were central to offering the kind of client experience that I look to achieve.



Jonathan Knee DipPFS,

I grew up on the family farm in Bradford-on-Avon before spending a significant amount of time living and working abroad. On return to the UK I spent several years working within financial services in London, firstly as an Investment Analyst at Legal & General and lastly at MetLife as Investment Technical Manager before leaving London in 2008.

I then moved back to The West Country to work in my family business H.J.Knee Ltd which was founded by my great, great grandfather in 1879 in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

I have several years Board level experience across multiple business sectors, in both executive and non-executive roles. I enjoy working within the community, being a school governor at St. Augustine's Catholic College and a Business Mentor at SETsquared in Bath, a highly successful business innovation centre and part of Bath University.

I live in Bath with my wife and son and am keen swimmer and enjoy social and sports events

I’m a financial planning professional providing bespoke advice to both individuals and businesses. I help my clients put in place a strategy to manage their wealth which aims to protect themselves, their families and their businesses against risk giving them financial security and peace of mind.

Before moving into Financial Services I worked in the wine industry getting to know my clients tastes and helping them choose the perfect bottle. What I loved about this career was really getting a true understanding of what my clients wanted and the satisfaction in seeing them get pleasure from my advice. I felt I could do something more meaningful whilst still enjoying similar aspects of my old job. After having seen first-hand how detrimental it can be to not have sufficient financial planning in place, coupled with my own interest in this sector it was an easy decision for me to change career and retrain. I transitioned from the wine trade into my current role through the St. James’s Place Academy where I received industry leading training and achieved my Diploma in Financial Planning.

I have recently moved to Bath from the Cotswolds and joined McKenzie & Co. and am really enjoying getting to know such a great city. I’m an avid Rugby fan and get down to The Rec and Twickenham as often as I can. I play a lot of Squash in my spare time and given my previous career I’m still a big wine enthusiast.

Harry Tucker,

After Co-Founding and running a successful business called P L A N E industries making luxury furniture from old aircraft parts, I am now Building on my entrepreneurial background as a financial consultant helping clients achieve their financial goals and aspirations through planning, execution and measurement.

Like anything in life, to be successful you need to have a robust plan, you need to know where you are going and how you are going to get there. The same applies for financial wealth, my role is to understand where my clients want to be financially so I can build a bespoke, robust plan for them and then work with them to achieve it.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, keeping fit, riding motorbikes, adrenaline sports and long range target shooting.



Nikki Mitchell,

I joined Financial Services in 1989 straight from education working for Norwich Union/Aviva for over 20 years, in the later years as a Senior Sales Consultant. Having taken the opportunity to volunteer for redundancy in 2010 I took a career break to raise my young family. Having decided to return to the workplace I joined St James’s Place as a Paraplanner in 2013 putting my wealth of knowledge and experience to good use supporting several Partners.

In 2019 I joined Mckenzie & Co Financial Consultants as Client Services Director responsible for the high level of ongoing service we aim to provide to our clients.

As a mum of three I am kept busy in my spare time mainly involving standing on the side of a muddy football pitch or at the Cotswold Lakes trying to keep warm.



Dena Lloyd,

I have worked in Financial Services for over 35 years now with 28 years at Aviva. I joined the McKenzie & Co team in 2017, having worked with Nicki and Ella at Aviva. Our ‘Dream Team’ is back together now to provide more than 70 year’s combined experience to our clients.

I have a son and 4 Springer Spaniels.



Ella Shore,

I’ve been working in Financial Services since 1998, initially with Aviva until 2008, when I moved to Dubai and headed up the office of Royal London as their administration manager. After 4 fantastic years in the Middle East, I am now back in the UK, and part of the team at McKenzie and Co. I have a son aged 9, who keeps me busy when I’m not working. I’m an avid fan of Michael Jackson and have spent many years travelling to various places across the world to support him. I love reading and enjoy a glass of wine or 2!
